Barrhead Travel aims to support its customers’ communities in a new phase of an integrated CSR strategy.
A breakfast club for children in Barrhead, the Renfrewshire town where the agency group opened its first branch in 1975, has been opened in collaboration with The Greggs Foundation.
Greggs’ charity aims improve the lives of children and communities.
They teamed up to open an early bird club at St Mark’s primary school in the town to allow pupils to gather before the school day to enjoy a healthy meal and activities such as sports, art, technology and music.
Barrhead Travel has agreed a two-year sponsorship and has other initiatives in the pipeline with the school.
Managing director Jacqueline Dobson said: “We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the community in such a meaningful way. Barrhead is the town in which our company found its roots and so it is an area very close to our hearts.
“We are constantly looking for ways in which we can support and are excited to take forward some very special projects in the New Year.”
The agency chain last month signed up with 7,000 retailers across the UK who are campaigning to make shopping easier for people with autism.
