Carnival Cruise Line has named its eight travel agent Fun Ambassadors.
Last month, the line launched a nationwide appeal, calling for the UK-based ambassadors to help drive engagement with its trade programme, Loyalty Rocks Club.
To apply, agents had to say why it is fun being a travel agent and suggest any changes they would make to Loyalty Rocks Club.
Iain Baillie, Carnival Cruise Line’s UK managing director, said every agent who entered would be given five Loyalty Rocks Club points.
The eight Fun Ambassadors, picked by Carnival Cruise Line, are: Kerry Cansdale, Travel Counsellors; Aaron Fletcher, Travel Solutions; Toni Hill, Cruise1st; Leighanne Dunkin, Iglu; Claire Titcombe, Thomas Cook; Craig Campbell, Travel2; Lauren Glenn, US Airtours; and Andrew Cawley, Virgin Holidays.
Baillie said: “We have been overwhelmed by travel professionals applying to become a Carnival Fun Ambassador.
“With only eight spaces, it was really hard to narrow it down as all the applicants were truly first class.”
Agents who were not successful will be able to apply again next year, Baillie said.
“We can’t wait to meet the first appointed candidates and welcome them to the 2019 board of fun ambassadors,” he added.
The Fun Ambassadors will hold their first meeting with the cruise line later this month. All eight will enjoy year-long benefits including receiving all-expenses trips to Miami and Ibiza.
