Jet2.com has claimed to be the largest scheduled airline operating from Manchester Airport after adding four routes to its summer 2010 programme.
The new routes, to be launched in April and May, are to Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia, Reus on the Costa Dorada, and Prague. Jet2.com will serve a total of nine new destinations next year.
The other new routes for next summer are Kos, Venice, Gran Canaria, Madeira and Tunisia. This will take the total number of routes from Manchester to 28.
Capacity at the northwest base will be increased by 20%, with 140,000 extra seats for summer 2010.
Chief executive Philip Meeson said: “We are bucking the trend of other airlines by increasing our services from our bases. As Manchester’s biggest scheduled leisure airline we are leading the pack. Our investment will see us increase our fleet at Manchester and create hundreds of jobs at the airport and in the industry.”
