Olympic Airways has added a third weekly flight from Heathrow to Thessaloniki for winter 1999/2000. The service will operate from the UK every Tuesday at 10pm, and will return to Heathrow every Wednesday at 9pm. The service is in addition to flights onSaturday and Sunday.

Cosmos has appointed Airtours’ senior purchasing manager Kieran Tobin as its new group overseas purchasing director. He replaces Andy Sawicki who retires in December.

Hoverspeed has extended its Newhaven to Dieppe service to include Monday crossings from November 1. The service will run in addition to Hoverspeed’s current Friday, Saturday and Sunday services. During the half-term school holiday, fromOctober 20-29, Hoverspeed will operate a daily service.
n hilton nottingham to undergo £16m refit
Hilton International is to carry out a £16mrefurbishment of its newly acquired Stakis Nottingham hotel. The revamp will includerefurbishing the hotel’s 177 bedrooms, a reception area, 140 seat restaurant and bar and three new meeting rooms. It will be completed by spring 2000 and the hotel will bereopened under the new name Hilton Nottingham.
