Cox and Kings launches online agent training

Cox and Kings launched its first online training programme for agents this week.

Senior marketing manager Paul Hopkinson said the programme on coxandkings.co.uk/agent will consist of seven different modules representing each of the tour operator’s programmes.

Each module contains 15 questions covering subjects from product to general knowledge.

Every agent completing the programme with a score of 85% or more will receive a £10 John Lewis voucher. Top-scoring agents will be entered into a draw in December to win a Samsung Notebook laptop – two are up for grabs.

With 60 agents joining the training programme on the first day of its launch, Hopkinson is hopeful that up to 1,000 agents will have signed up by the end of the year.

He said: “This is our first online training programme. We have only had a trade website in the last year, so it is quite a big thing. We wanted to reiterate our commitment to travel agents by incentivising the programme.”

He said the operator is hoping the website will change agents’ perception of the luxury tour operator.

Hopkinson said: “Agents thought we were very expensive, but we can offer very competitive prices and we’re not just a tours-only operator. We can do tailor-made as well.”
