Delta Air Lines is to relaunch its daily nonstop service between Manchester and New York from May next year.
The service to John F Kennedy airport will resume after a temporary suspension over the winter, which begins on 7 January 2010.
Delta’s Manchester to New York service is operated in cooperation with Air France KLM, which codeshares on the route. The flight will be operated using a 170-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft and complements Delta’s year-round daily service between Manchester and Atlanta.
“Manchester is an important market for Delta,” said Delta UK and Ireland regional sales director Armin Venencie. “We are committed to this city and will be operating two daily services during the busy holiday periods.”
Delta’s joint venture with Air France KLM has fuelled the re-instatement of service on 16 nonstop transatlantic routes for summer 2010.
