Royal Caribbean increases commission after Globes win

Royal Caribbean International has thanked agents in UK and Ireland by hiking commission by 3% after winning Best Trade Friendly Brand at Travel Weekly’s Globe Travel Awards.

The bonus is applicable on all 2019 sailings booked from January 24 to February 5 inclusive.

The decision was made after a “brainstorming session” following the Globe Travel Awards in central London last Thursday, in which the cruise line scooped two awards.

Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean’s associate vice-president and managing editor, UK & Ireland, said: “We were trying to come up with a way of saying ‘thank you’. We were so thrilled and delighted to win the awards.

“Best Trade Friendly Brand is a first-time win for us alongside the Best Mainstream Cruise Company award for the 13th year running.

“We couldn’t do what we do without the incredible support we have from our trade partners.

“It’s pay-day weekend, so we’re expecting our trade partners to be very busy.  We hope these incentives for their customers, as well as themselves, go some way to thanking them for their unwavering commitment to our brand.”
