A dynamic packaging online travel agency is offering ski trips to Andorra.
The Internet Traveller has launched the Andorra Traveller tour operation to attract skiers keen to avoid more expensive Alpine resorts.
Backer of the new operation Steve Endacott dismissed recent warnings that people dynamically packaging ski breaks could pay 20% more than through a traditional package, the prices of which were hedged before the pound’s fall against the euro.
Instead, he said a customer choosing to ski in Andorra with the operator could save more than £550 by booking a week-long £727 trip to Andorra as opposed to the Three Valleys in France.
Said Endacott: “In a market where people are trading down, Andorra is a logical place to feature.”
He added that following the linking up of six ski resorts with ski lifts to create the Grandvalira ski area, the destination can compete with rival European ski resorts.
As Andorra Traveller is part of the Freedom Travel Agents’ Consortium, it is fully ATOL bonded, he said. The operator is targeting around 500 customers for its first season.
