Funway Holidays has appointed Kyle Haughton as its new managing director.
He is replacing Stephen Hughes who founded the company in 1993 and who will now occupy a consultancy role.
Haughton, who is to take up the role this month, will assume day-to-day management of Funway’s three US brands Funway Holidays, Continental Airlines Vacations and United Vacations, as well as the additional brands Sandals by Funway and Funway Far East.
Hughes said: “We welcome the appointment of Kyle Haughton, who will lead the company forward to the next stage of its development.
“In the last 16 years, despite many industry-wide challenges, Funway Holidays has blossomed from a simple US specialist into a successful multi-destination long-haul tour operator.
“We believe it has the potential to go much further, and under Kyle’s leadership it will achieve its goals. I will be leaving the company in good hands.”
Haughton joins the company from airport operator BAA where he has spent the last three years as commercial sales and marketing director. He was previously a director at First Choice where he had worked for 15 years.
