TV and stage star Claire Sweeney has become a travel ambassador for solo touring specialist Just You.
Known for her roles in Brookside and in West End musicals, the actor will be featured in Just You marketing material, social media channels and at key trade events.
Alastair Campbell, Just You’s managing director, said: “We are very excited that Claire is joining the Just You team as our travel ambassador.
“Just like our customers, she has a passion for travel, a real sense of adventure and while she enjoys being a solo traveller, Claire also loves sharing experiences on holiday with other people.
“We know she will be extremely popular with our trade partners.”
Sweeney said she caught the travel bug when she worked as an entertainer on cruise ships.
“My most memorable experience was when I went to Goa in the nineties, before it was a popular destination,” she said.
“The hospitality was wonderful, and the people were beautiful.
“Just You offers the perfect holiday for me. I have a huge passion for travel, to see great places and countries that I have not been to.
“With Just You, I am able to travel solo while having the company of a group, but I can also go and explore on my own and then share the experience with the group later in the day.”
She added: “I will soon be heading off to India with Just You, and I can’t wait. I’ve only spent a day in Mumbai while working on the ships, and it’s been a lifelong ambition to go back and visit places in India that I have not been to before.”
She will be joining Just You’s 13-day Spirit of India tour, which visits the Taj Mahal and the Amber Fort before searching for tigers in Ranthambore and seeing the sacred River Ganges.
