Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Summit has emerged from a multi-million dollar refurbishment.
Every cabin – 1,071 staterooms and 50 suites – as well as the main dining room, cocktail bar Rendezvous Lounge and The Sunset Bar have all been revamped. Thirty new staterooms have been added.
The Retreat, which debuted on Celebrity Edge, has also been added for suite guests, with a new sundeck and redesigned lounge.
Summit, a Millennium-class vessel, was first launched in 2001 and is the second in the fleet to be overhauled, after Celebrity Millennium last month.
The refurbishment is part of Celebrity Cruises’ $500-million fleet-wide modernisation programme.

Celebrity Equinox is next to undergo a bow-to-stern refit and six more will be modernised by 2023.
Celebrity Summit spent over a month in dry dock in the Bahamas.
Travel Weekly attended the two-day preview sailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico at the weekend.
Speaking onboard 2,218-passenger Summit, Lutoff-Perlo said Millennium-class ships were “heavy and dark”.
“It might have been the style of branding then, but we have worked really hard to talk about modern luxury so that design does not fit that. The Millennium class of ships really needed this boost.”
