Uniworld has recruited Angela Sloan from World Travel Holdings as its key account manager in the UK.
Sloan, who will start her newly-created role next week, will join an expanded trade team of five led by UK managing director Chris Townson.
In her on-the-road role, Sloan will be responsible for Uniworld and U by Uniworld’s top agents and building new relationships.
She will report into the lines’ national sales manager Rachel Healey.
Sloan joins the team from World Travel Holdings UK, where she was head of product and commercial for the last year.
Before her role at WTH UK, she spent five years at Scenic and Emerald Waterways as head of sales.
Townson said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be bringing Angela on board to enhance Uniworld and U’s trade team in the UK.
“Angela’s appointment further cements our place as the trade’s most supportive and dedicated river cruise operator.
“Angela and I worked together at Scenic, where she grew our partner relationships to new levels; she’s a senior operator, bringing phenomenal experience, sales acumen and contacts with her, but has come to work with us as key account manager while she balances life with her young son George.
“I have no doubt our partners will be very excited to see her join the team.”
Sloan said she was looking forward to getting “straight out to market” and meeting agents.
