Adventure travel company Wild Frontiers has acquired luxury tailor-made specialist tour operator Silk Road and Beyond.
Silk Road and Beyond, which takes around 10% of its sales through the trade, specialises in bespoke luxury holidays to Asia and North Africa. Silk Road staff have now moved into Wild Frontiers’ offices in Fulham, London from High Street Kensington. It will continue to operate as a separate brand under its new ownership.
The acquisition will broaden the product offering of both operators. Founder and managing director of Fulham-based Wild Frontiers Jonny Bealby said: “With the growth in our own tailor-made portfolio, we have been looking for some time for the right company to give us added knowledge, experience and systems to expand this vital area.
“While the number of destinations we cover may not increase significantly, the services we will be able to provide within them will.”
Silk Road and Beyond director Nigel Fisher said: “With the now combined option of small group travel and our own specialist tailor-made product we now have an extremely attractive one-stop shop.”
