Organisers of the Just Help Haiti appeal have thanked travel companies that have already pledged their support and have called for more to donate.
The appeal was set up in the immediate aftermath of the Haiti earthquake by international water aid charity Just a Drop.
Companies and organisations that have already committed their support include The Co-operative Travel, Hayes & Jarvis, The Travel Club, World Travel Market (WTM), European Tour Operators’ Association (ETOA), EKO Marketing and Brighter PR. Travel Weekly is also backing the appeal.
Just a Drop founder Fiona Jeffery said the appeal was crucial in raising funds to support work to rebuild the country’s water and sanitation infrastructure.
The Co-operative Travel has supported the appeal by donating a holiday for a prize draw, and other operators are expected to do the same as part of an ongoing fundraising strategy.
WTM, ETOA and The Travel Club have all pledged the use of their facilities and marketing databases to spread the word, while Travel Weekly, EKO Marketing and Brighter PR have committed to maintaining the profile of the appeal.
