Malta tipped for ABTA Convention

Malta is widely tipped to be chosen by ABTA as the venue for this year’s Travel Convention.

The destination is known to have been bidding against Tel Aviv to host the event.

The Malta Hilton has issued a stop-sell for October 23-26 “due to a conference”, but ABTA refused to confirm the destination or dates. It said it would make an announcement at the end of this week.

Meanwhile, Benidorm, which is to host this year’s ITT conference in June, has confirmed it is “working to host the ABTA Travel Convention in 2012 when the Benidorm Congress & Cultural Hall will be finished”.
