Jet2 and Jet2holidays has started serving Izmir in Turkey with flights from six UK airports.
The first service took off from Manchester airport yesterday.
Further departures are scheduled today from Glasgow and Stansted, Newcastle tomorrow and both Birmingham and Leeds Bradford on May 8.
The company will operate eight flights a week to Izmir this summer with a capacity of more than 80,000 seats.
It is the operator’s fourth destination in Turkey in addition to Antalya, Bodrum and Dalaman.
Izmir gives access to resorts on the west coast of Turkey such as Kusadasi, Cesme, Ozdere and Seferihisar.
The launch of flights and holidays to Izmir comes as the company starts its largest summer programme, with 59 destinations on sale and fleet of 100 aircraft.
CEO Steve Heapy said: “With flights and holidays operating from six of our nine UK bases this summer, Izmir is shaping up to be an incredibly popular destination, and we are looking forward to a bright future in this fantastic region.”
