Eliott Hotel: four-star standard with 114 rooms, the Eliott is owned and managed by the Irish O’Callaghan group as an Inter-Continental Global Partner Hotel, and is targeted at the business market. Facilities at the city-centre hotel include a rooftop fitness centre with small open-air pool, gym and sauna. Afternoon tea is served daily in the Verandah Lounge.


Rock Hotel: a 10min walk from the city centre, the Rock is four-star standard with 104 rooms, all sea facing. The hotel, which opened in 1932, retains its old colonial charm – complete with ceiling fans and bamboo furniture. It attracts the bulk of Gibraltar’s top-end short-break business and is now being aimed at the corporate market. It also has a garden swimming pool and a casino next door.


Caleta Palace: three-star standard with 153 rooms, the Caleta Palace overlooks sandy Catalan Bay. Family owned and operated, it has until now been targeted firmly at the leisure market; new conference facilities due to open soon will widen its appeal. Facilities include sea-water pool and separate children’s pool.


Bristol Hotel: Gibraltar’s oldest hotel, the two-star standard Bristol dates from 1893. In the centre of town, it has 60 rooms and serves the budget holiday market.


Queens Hotel: another hotel of two-star standard, the18-room Queens is 5mins from the centre.
