Final call for Abta elections votes

Abta is urging members to submit their votes for the Abta Elections 2010 in the run up to the deadline on Wednesday April 14.

A total of four candidates are standing in two elections, with The Co-operative Travel managing director Mike Greenacre and On The Beach commercial director Johnny Pollard battling it out to represent members with a turnover of £20 million on the board of directors.

Meanwhile Moseley Travel owner Charles Eftichiou and Complete World Travel chairman Michael Knowles are both standing to represent Midland region members on the Council of Regions.

An Abta spokeswoman said ballot papers have been sent to all members who are either in the same turnover band for the board election or in the Midland region and are entitled to vote. All papers must be returned by 5pm on the closing day.

Abta chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “We need members’ input if we’re to remain a healthy, truly democratic  organisation and I urge you to take this opportunity to make your choice count.”

The candidates’ full manifestos are available in the members’ area of abta.com. Any members entitled to vote but who haven’t been sent a ballot paper should contact Abta manager for trade relations Susan Parsons on 020 3117 0524.
