Former British Airways UK and Ireland sales manager Dilshad Caffoor has joined expanding travel agency TravelUp as chief commercial officer.
He directed the commercial strategy for the carrier’s largest leisure sales portfolio.
As lead technology expert for Iata’s NDC (New Distribution Capability) at the airline, Caffoor was responsible for delivering a technology platform and represented the organisation at steering and consultation committees and global travel conferences with airline trade body and the travel industry.
He moves to TravelUp after 18 years with BA alongside new chief financial officer Mark Crawford, previously finance director supply chain and logistics for Kingfisher.
The appointments come as the company weighs up a possible stock market listing in September. Other options being considered include selling a stake to venture capitalists or private equity to fuel growth.
TravelUp founder and CEO Ali Shah CEO said: “It is vital for the growth of the company that we continue to recruit the best from within the industry and we also look at gaining experience from outside of travel.
“This gives us a much wider strategic view when looking at the development of TravelUp.
“I am confident that the addition of Mark and Dilshad will cement what is already a strong and effective senior management team.”
TravelUp Group provides travel arrangements for more than 500,000 customers a year.
