British holidaymakers remain determined to head overseas this summer despite Brexit uncertainty, according to a luxury operator.
Data from Kenwood Travel shows increased bookings to many destinations worldwide.
Florida bookings are up by 17% year-on-year to make it the most popular long-haul summer destination, followed by the UAE, Thailand, Maldives, Barbados, Mauritius, Mexico, Dominican Republic, St Lucia and Antigua.
Dubai is the top city break destination ahead of neighbour Abu Dhabi, then Las Vegas, New York and Miami.
European countries dominate the list of the fastest growing destinations, with bookings to Cyprus almost doubling this summer, while Italy and Portugal have outsold last year, up 93% and 68% respectively.
Vietnam continues to grow in popularity, with bookings up by a quarter, while Malaysia, up 24% and the US, up 18%, are also on the rise.
Head of sales Alex Stuart said: “Our booking data shows a growing appetite amongst British holidaymakers for luxury holidays, not only in long-haul destinations such as Florida, the UAE and Thailand, but also those closer to home.
“Whilst many suggested British holidaymakers would delay or even postpone their holidays this year due to Brexit, our booking data shows that in fact, Brits are still determined to enjoy their summer holiday on foreign shores this year.”
