Low morale and longer working hours are two ways the recession has affected people in travel.
Mental health charity Mind has launched a campaign called Taking Care of Business which aims to improve mental wellbeing at work.
Here, head of information Bridget O’Connell offers her top tips for beating the Sunday night blues.
Exercise on a Sunday
Exertion boosts your mood and helps you to de-strees physically and mentally. It should also give you a good night’s sleep.
Adopt a calm routine on Sunday evenings
Get into a habit of maybe having a bath or catching up on favourite TV shows to keep you feeling relaxed the day before work.
Leave the working week behind you
Try not to carry stress into your free time. Write down all your issues and put them in a drawer until Monday, switch off your BlackBerry and get closure on the week by socialising after work.
Pursue a calming hobby
Whether you like to cook, draw, read or sing, do something calming on Sunday just for you.
Go to bed early on a Sunday
This will ensure you are fresh and alert for Monday.
