8. Royal Plantation Island, Bahamas
There are just six secluded villas scattered across this 50-acre private island, and guests can book them individually or reserve the whole island kit and caboodle for a getaway with family and friends.
All the one, two or three-bedroom villas have a full kitchen, but there’s also the Harbour Club restaurant which sits on top the island’s highest point. As well as enjoying the island’s beaches, guests can scuba, snorkel, sail, sea-kayak, or head to one of the nearby islands – they can choose one that’s inhabited, or home only to wildlife.
“Everything here is discreet and understated – the epitome of five-star service,” says Katie Parsons, Hayes & Jarvis product and contracts manager for the Caribbean. “It’s also totally private, on a 50-mile island set in the middle of the secluded Exumas.”
Sample product: Hayes & Jarvis offers seven nights’ all-inclusive from £3,499. hayesandjarvis.co.uk, 0844 415 5550
