A total of four new directors have been elected to the board of the Institute of Travel and Tourism.
Angela Day, Affordable Car Hire’s managing director, Richard English, who owns ReTraining, Allan Lambert, head of retail sales for Bourne Leisure and Ignacio Vasallo, the director of the Spanish Tourist Office, have all been given positions on the board.
Day beat Jane Dunham from Rail Europe to the ground transportation directorship while Lawrence Assock has also had to stand down as a general director following the election.
Each of the newly elected directors, who were among 16 standing in the election, will hold the position for the next two years.
Steven Freudmann, ITT’s chairman said: “It’s always exciting to have new members join the board while at the same time I would like to recognise the major contribution of those not returning.
“The fact that there were 16 candidates speaks volumes of the health of the institute and the important role it will continue to play in the industry.”
