Former partner at specialist travel legal firm Travlaw, Farina Azam, has joined leading technology and digital media law firm Kemp Little LLP.
Azam, who begins in her new role today, has been appointed a partner of London-based Kemp Little and its travel lead in its commercial technology team.
Having spent the last 12 years at Leeds-based Travlaw, firstly as head of commercial before becoming a partner, Azam has established a specialism in providing regulatory, commercial and consumer contract advice for the travel industry.
Her clients have included tour operators, online travel agents, hotels, airlines, travel consortia, travel management companies, flight consolidators, villa and accommodation providers, adventure travel operators and festival organisers.
Azam said: “The impact of technology on the way we all discover, buy and rate our travel experiences has been immense over the past two decades.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining such a forward thinking and innovative firm in Kemp Little where that interface between technology and travel is fully appreciated.
“The firm’s vision and ambitions match my own for the sector and I look forward to working with the team to further build the firm’s travel practice.”
Kemp Little managing partner Andrew Joint said: “Farina’s appointment marks an exciting time for the firm with the expansion of our travel practice to bolster our regulatory work.
“Her reputation in the market and extensive expertise surrounding the legal issues affecting the travel industry will add another dimension to our technology-focused offering, in a sector where we already have a wealth of long-standing and high-profile clients.”
