Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have been recognised for their support of tourism to Lanzarote.
The sister airline and tour operating group received an award for sustainability and marketing of the Canary island.
Jet2holidays claims to be the biggest UK operator to the island following years of capacity growth to the Canaries.
More than 370,000 seats are on sale to Lanzarote this winter and 550,000 in a record summer programme for 2020.
The company has created year-round jobs by employing customer helpers in airports and resorts, as well as staff operating hotel-based flight check-in.
CEO Steve Heapy said: “The accolade recognises our successful operation in Lanzarote and reflects our absolute commitment to bringing more and more holidaymakers to this fantastic destination.
“We have always focused steadfastly on promoting Lanzarote as a wonderful year-round destination for holidaymakers, and this award makes us more determined to continue that.”
Tourism minister Angel Vazquez, who presented the award, said: “We’d like to express our gratitude to Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for their continued support of the island of Lanzarote by increasing flight connections and contracts with hotels and services.
“We thank them again for this co-operation and encourage the group to continue their support to the island.”
