Real-time departure and arrival information is being provide by Scottish carrier Loganair as part of a revamped website.
New technology links the Flybe franchise airline’s operational monitoring systems to the website at loganair.co.uk to enable users to access the latest flight information.
The move came as the regional airline was named as having the most punctual flights from Glasgow airport in August with 93.8% of flights departing on time compared to an average of 80.4%.
Jonathan Hinkles, Flybe’s commercial director, said: “Our information system also includes details for dedicated flights which Loganair operates to carry newspapers and mail throughout the Highlands and Islands, helping communities to stay informed of the whereabouts of the day’s deliveries.”
The airline, which has a 20-strong fleet of aircraft covering 26 routes, is urging passengers to continue to observe the minimum check-in time of 30 minutes.
“We work hard to ensure our services leave on time, and we’re proud of the relationship of trust we have developed with passengers based on the high reliability of our services,” Hinkles said.
“The 30-minute deadline is designed to allow sufficient time for passengers to check-in and undergo the mandatory security checks before boarding the aircraft.
“We can only maintain and achieve these excellent statistics with the help of our customers, and so we’d like to stress the need for on-time check-in at all of our airports”.
