The Co-operative Travel Cosmos joint venture tour operation is “under review” following this morning’s announcement of a retail merger of the two groups.
The Co-op entered into the joint venture with Cosmos last year as the operator sought to guarantee high street distribution and the Co-op looked to shore up access to product.
A first summer brochure went on sale for this year, but reports that sales were sluggish were confirmed earlier this year when Co-op managing director sent a missive to staff to sell more.
A Co-op spokesman would only confirm this morning that the joint venture known at The Co-operative Holidays was “under review”.
He did confirm that Greenacre will have a role in the new merged Thomas Cook retail division as trade director.
