n belfast airport bids to drum up business



Belfast International Airport launches a trade promotion next month to get more business from Northern Ireland agents. All trade material will be stamped with Think BFS, the airport’s code, to encourage agents to consider the airport first.



n augsburg airways to serve hamburg daily



Lufthansa franchise carrier Augsburg Airways starts daily Newcastle-Hamburg flights from November 1 using a 50-seater Dash-8 aircraft. Introductory lead-in fares will be £125.40 return. Onward connections to a range of German cities are available for £181.20.



n olympic to cut costs in new business plan



Olympic Airways presents a cost-cutting business plan to the Greek government this week following the involvement of British Airways in restructuring the airline. The move comes after Olympic announced it had reduced its operating losses to £21m last year, compared with £56m in 1997.



n GB Airways to add marrakesh flight



GBAirways adds an extra weekly flight from Gatwick to Marrakesh in November to give the airline three services a week. The new flight will be on Sundays. GBAirways is also increasing Gatwick-Tangier flights to twice weekly from one this winter.
