TWnewsmaker: exclusive Pirie interview begins new video series

Travel Weekly owner TWgroup has extended its multi-media portfolio with the launch of a new monthly online TV programme.

Travel Weekly Newsmaker is inspired by the BBC’s Hard Talk format, and will feature an interview with a leading figure from the travel industry in each edition.

The first interview, out today, features Travel Republic managing director Kane Pirie fresh from his appearance at The Travel Convention.

In a hard-hitting interview with Travel Weekly editor Lucy Huxley, Pirie discusses the effect of his lengthy court battle with the CAA and his views on the future of the industry.

Huxley said: “TWgroup is proud to break the biggest stories and secure the best interviews to keep our readers up to speed on the latest in the travel industry.

“Travel Weekly Newsmaker is the latest addition to a multimedia portfolio which includes print, online and interactive publishing, and gives us a real chance to ask the industry’s leading players the questions which everyone is asking.”

TWgroup chief executive Simon Ferguson added: “TWgroup has a great tradition of breaking new ground in the trade media arena, and Travel Weekly Newsmaker is an excellent example of that.

“People are now engaging with media across a range of platforms, and this monthly broadcast-quality programme will greatly enhance our portfolio of products which include Travel Weekly, Travolution and TWinteractive magazines.”

Travel Weekly Newsmaker is produced in association with Qatar Airways.
