Bath Travel sells business travel arm

Bath Travel has sold its business travel division to WEXAS saying it will concentrate on building its leisure travel arm.

The deal, announced today, sees Bath Business Travel join WEXAS’ Travel Management division with immediate effect.

Bath Business Travel was formed in 1993 and its team of 20 employees will continue to operate from its Westborne base.

Stephen Bath, joint managing director of Bath Travel, said: “We’re delighted that WEXAS are taking on our business travel team.

“We know that they will add further value for our clients and also enhance the career opportunities for our team.

“By making this change, we will focus on building on and developing our leisure business, which has always been our primary focus”.

Steve Allen, Managing Director of WEXAS added: “We’re delighted to welcome the Bath Travel Business Travel team into WEXAS, and are looking forward to working together to enhance our existing high quality businesses.

“We are keen to grow all three of our businesses and this move strengthens our corporate travel arm. Whilst the travel sector is still affected by the current cautious economic outlook, 2011 will be a year for further renewal, consolidation and change within the industry”.
