The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel adds new 2020 marketing initiatives

The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel is adding new and expanded marketing initiatives and tools for its homeworkers for the January peak selling period.

Initiatives cover local marketing strategies and social media campaigns, while additional staff have been drafted in as “runners”, who are “on-hand to do whatever it takes to help out and ease the peak pressure”.

To keep stress levels to a minimum, the homeworking group has also designed a Wednesday Walk initiative to encourage its 170 agents to step away from their desks and get some fresh air. Homeworkers are asked to take selfies on their walk and post pictures in the group’s ‘virtual office’

To prepare for the busy selling period, the Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel ran a superhero-themed pre-Christmas roadshow.

The head office team toured the country from December 9-13 in a series of festive events for its agents – it visited Sheffield, Manchester, London, Bristol, and Birmingham.

The theme of the roadshow was “Super Peaks” and was designed to inspire homeworkers to release their inner superhero during the busy booking period.

It included an update from the business, highlights and snapshots from 2019, recent award nominations and wins, information on the January peak booking campaigns, the new initiatives for 2020, marketing updates and training.

Each event included a Christmas lunch with Secret Santa, a quiz and prize giveaways such as a spa day or Fortnum & Mason Christmas food hampers.

Sheena Whittle, head of The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel, said: “Everyone has worked so hard this year and we love getting out on the road, saying thank you, well done and making sure our homeworkers know they are never alone.  There is always an eager and dedicated team supporting them.”
