Latin Routes’ best-selling agency and homeworker were honoured at the operator’s inaugural Top Agents Awards.
Thirty agents were invited to the ceremony, overlooking the London skyline at Searcys at the Gherkin on Wednesday night.
Top Agency 2019 was awarded to Beaver Travel, in Radlett, Hertfordshire.
Top Homeworker 2019 was awarded to Travel Weekly’s Agent Diary columnist David Walker, a.k.a. The Travel Snob – a Not Just Travel franchisee based in Nottingham.
Both award winners received a place on Latin Routes’ Travel Agent Training Academy in Peru in March.
An agency and homeworker were also highly commended at the awards ceremony: Regent Travel in Hartlepool, and Stephanie Watson, a Birmingham-based homeworker for Holidaysplease.
Gaynor Atherton, business development manager UK and Ireland, said: “Tonight is a celebration of all of our top sellers and the business they have done, well done to all of you. This is our first dinner and hopefully next year, we will do more.”
Four suppliers attended the awards: operator Australis, airline LATAM, Celebrity Cruises and the Chile Tourist Board.
