Ryanair annual carryings top 152 million

Ryanair Group carryings jumped to 11.2 million passengers in December.

The peak Christmas travel month saw numbers rise by 9% in total over December 2018.

Ryanair flew 7% more passengers at 10.7 million while Austrian subsidiary Lauda saw a 67% increase from 300,000 to 500,000 year-on-year.

The overall load factor achieved was 95%.

The December traffic gave the Irish low cost carrier group a rolling annual total of 152.4 million passengers, up 9% on 2018 levels.

The figure compares with passenger carryings by British Airways of around 45 million a year.
