French mobile home holidays operator Homair Vacances has taken over the Thomson Al Fresco brand from Tui Travel.
The brand will continue to operate from its existing base in Bury and hold its trademark rights operating under the Thomson Al Fresco name as a stand alone business. All 27 staff will be retained.
Under the new ownership, Thomson Al Fresco will become one of Europe’s largest groups of mobile home holiday operators, offering almost 8,000 mobile homes.
Homair Vacances operates 6,500 holiday homes on 102 parks in France, Italy, Spain, Croatia and Portugal. Thomson Al Fresco has 48 parks in similar regions.
Homair’s main shareholder is specialist investment fund Montefiore Investment.
Thomson Al Fresco managing director Nick Riggs, previously commercial and product director, said: “Homair Vacances is the perfect new parent company as it will extend our reach into new parks and as a dedicated mobile home holiday operator, it will offer an additional level of expertise.
“This acquisition will provide fantastic opportunities for Thomson Al Fresco to grow while maintaining high quality accommodation, great parks and customer service as the focus of the brand.”
