The Advantage Travel Partnership has postponed its 2020 conference.
The annual event was due to take place from May 15-18 at the Savoy Palace on the Portuguese island of Madeira.
It will now be held in the same venue from May 21-24 2021.
Current Foreign Office advice suggests against all non-essential overseas travel as a result of restrictions put in place because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement to trade partners, the travel agency consortium said: “As with the rest of the industry, Advantage is adapting to an ever-evolving situation and the consortia’s priority remains focused on providing daily support, advice and expertise to help its members navigate these unprecedented times.”
Chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said added: “It is disappointing that we have had to postpone this year’s conference as we know how highly it is valued by our members and partners, however the safety of our delegates is our main priority and postponing is now the right decision.”
