Pata creates business survey to gauge coronavirus impact

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has launched a Business Impact Survey to gauge the effect of the coronavirus crisis on the global travel industry.

The anonymous survey will allow Pata and partner destination management organisations, governments and associations to understand how the pandemic is impacting businesses and will shape lobbying efforts for effective responses.

Mario Hardy, Pata chief executive, said: “We are asking all industry stakeholders to take a few minutes to complete the Pata Business Impact Survey to help us better understand how the current pandemic is impacting your organisation.

“Your support in completing this survey will provide us with the information we require to work with policymakers and other stakeholders on your behalf towards an appropriate response.”

He added: “As the industry faces one of the greatest threats it has ever seen, we need to take action now. Through a co-operative and coordinated approach, we hope to build a more resilient, responsible, sustainable and stronger travel and tourism industry.

“Pata will continue to stand by our members and industry colleagues during times such as these, and I thank you for your continued support.”

The launch of the impact survey after Pata UK & Ireland created a trade forum for members to support each other and urged the industry to “sit tight” for a recovery.
