Hilton works with Dettol maker in ‘CleanStay’ initiative

Hilton is collaborating with the maker of Dettol for a new ‘CleanStay’ hygiene scheme as UK hotels gear up for a possible reopening on July 4.

The arrangement with RB [Reckitt Benckiser] includes new procedures to help hotels become cleaner and safer for stays from  this summer

The new measures are being introduced from June 15.

Hilton CleanStay will be implemented across the group’s 18 brands by mid-July.

Elements include a room seal, placed on the door upon being thoroughly cleaned.

Bedrooms will have extra disinfection of the most frequently touched guests room areas such as light switches, door handles, TV remotes, thermostats.

They will be de-cluttered, with items like pens and paper removed.

Disinfecting wipes will be provided in every room for guest use.

Hilton president and chief executive Chris Nassetta said: “As the hospitality industry evolves to address travellers’ changing expectations – especially in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic – Hilton CleanStay is the latest evolution of our commitment to providing the peace of mind and confidence our guests need to travel freely, while protecting our team members.

“Though our hospitality may look different in the short term, around the world we are eager to welcome our guests once more and create the unforgettable experiences they have come to expect from Hilton.”
