GARTON QUITS POST
GE Travel Insurance Services head of sales and marketing Lisa Garton is leaving the firm to take up a position outside the industry. Her role will be split when the travel insurance arm is integrated into the parent company GE Financial Insurance on October 1. Ciaran Barr will be head of marketing in the new structure and Chris Harrison head of sales and new business development.
KLM IN BUDGET MOVE
KLMwill unveil details of its low-cost carrier as early as next month. Aviation analysts understand the airline will be called Buzz. It will be based at Stansted (Travel Weekly August 16). A KLM UK spokeswoman confirmed plans will be outlined over the coming weeks.

SANDALS DAMAGED
Sandals relocated holidaymakers in its Royal Bahaman resort in the Bahamas after it suffered damage by hurricane Floyd. The resort is due to reopen on Thursday. Holidaymakers have been relocated to Jamaica. Floyd also caused airlines to cancel flights to the Bahamas, Florida, New York and New Jersey last week.
