n What’s the best job you’ve had apart from your current one?
Sales and marketing manager at Quo Vadis (a small specialist UKtour operator to Italy).
n If you weren’t in travel, what would you be doing?
I would like to be a property developer.
n What advice would you give to someone starting out in the travel industry?
Make sure that every time you wake up on a Monday morning you enjoy what you’re doing.
n What percentage of holiday bookings do you estimate will be taken direct by the year 2000?
The growth will be more in the short-haul market and I estimate it will increase as people become more technology focused.
n Do you have a Web site and if so how many bookings do you receive on it?
We have an information Web site but do not take bookings on it. The address is www.disney.co.uk
n Do you think the growing consolidation in the industry is good for consumers?
Personally I believe that there needs to be room in the market for the small niche operators. I also feel that it is very important for the small operators to have access to air capacity in order to ensure their survival.
n Make one prediction about travel in the 21st century?
Customers will take more holidays more often than now as they will have greater leisure time.
