Kuoni has kept to a pledge made at the start of the month to remove a 5% online consumer discount.
The removal of the preferred pricing for the public follows enhancements to the kuoni.co.uk website. The operator confirmed that it had taken the opportunity to review its online discount strategy and has decided to remove the 5% ‘book online’ discount message from the consumer site.
This means there will no longer be any difference in the price of a Kuoni holiday between the website, its own stores and independent agents. Kuoni will still offer tactical discounts on selected products and departure dates.
“But importantly all of these offers will be ‘on system’ and will be available through all channels,” the operator said. Kuoni’s ‘Lates Calendar’, which displays day by day pricing on a range of holidays, will also show when availability is limited. Clear signposting on the calendar has been introduced highlighting which Kuoni Plus offers are available.
National sales manager Amanda Darrington said: “With the removal of our 5% online discount our commitment to the trade is stronger than ever; with our branded agent partnerships, jointly branded, fully refitted stores offering a premium service to customers in an exclusive environment.”
The Kuoni Specialist Agent programme now includes dedicated brochure display design. The operator claims it continues to lead the way with overseas educational visits, premium product training, evening seminars and exclusive point of sale materials.
“We greatly value the continuing support from the trade and trust that this announcement will help our specialist agents to deliver significant growth to their Kuoni business over the coming years,” added Darrington.
