Ryanair September carryings hit by Covid-19 travel restrictions

Ryanair blamed Covid-19 travel restrictions for a 64% year-on-year slump in September traffic.

Passenger carryings by Europe’s largest budget carrier fell to 5.1 million from more than 14 million in te same month in 2019.

Ryanair operated just over half (53%) of its normal schedule in September with a load factor of 71%.

The Irish airline group’s rolling annual total of carryings fell by 47% from 150.3 million to 79.9 million in the period to September.
