Flights from Heathrow and London City airport were returning to normal today after 48 hours of delays and cancellations due to heavy fog.
Thousands of travellers were grounded as the white blanket covered northern Europe yesterday resulting in 120 departures and 104 arrivals being cancelled at Heathrow alone since Sunday.
At London City, 13 arrivals and 18 departures were cancelled on Monday. But the fog has lifted and while there are no more restrictions at Heathrow, passengers are bring urged to check with airlines before travelling.
A Heathrow spokesman said: “The fog has started to clear and there are now no restrictions on flying. “There are currently no delays to flights but we advise passengers to check with their airlines before travelling.”
A London City spokeswoman said it was back on schedule.
