Bulgari is confident its first foray into the London hotel scene will quickly become one of the five best properties in the city.
The Bulgari Hotel & Residences, which is the first new luxury build in London for 40 years, will open in Knightsbridge in April next year.
General Manager Sylvain Ercoli said that service would be key to making the hotel unique amongst London’s five star hotels.
“Guests must feel genuinely welcomed, so service will be impeccable but with less formality. Luxury is what you want, when you want it. What do you give to people who have everything? The Bulgari Hotel.”
The hotel will start taking bookings in January. Ercoli said that he will be in the privileged position of being the only 5 star hotel in London with rooms still available for the London Olympics at the start of next year.
“However, we have had so many enquiries for that period I could have booked every room more than once, if we had started taking reservations,” he said.
Bulgari CEO Francesco Trapani said: “Five star hotels in London are traditional in style. The Bulgari Hotel will be unique in offering high standards but in a contemporary style and is built from scratch so it is technologically up to date. Hip and trendy hotels in London so far have not offered truly five-star luxury.”
The 85 room hotel has an ecologically designed green roof with bird and bat boxes and has also sponsored a number of electric car charging points in the vicinity.
It also has a ballroom, two private dining rooms, a library, a cigar shop, a 2000m2 spa, a beauty salon, a 25m pool, meeting cailities and a private screening room.
