NEWLY-FORMED JMC sent Thomas Cook agents more than 2m brochures with the wrong call centre telephone number on the back cover.
Distribution went ahead, but with orders for agents to cover the mistake with stickers containing the correct number.
A spokeswoman said: “Two digits were transposed on the number for the Thomas Cook Direct call centre which was not picked up until the brochures had been printed and ready for distribution”. Other agents were not affected as brochures they received contained a different direct number.
Meanwhile, JMC is insisting agents send their clients new invoices for any winter and summer 2000 holidays booked under the company’s old names, Sunworld and Sunset.
The group has taken 110,000 forward bookings and the change could cost some agents hundreds of pounds. JMC sales director Denis Wormwell said worried agents should talk to the operator.
