Virgin Atlantic sales and marketing director Paul Dickinson is to join Christie’s auction house.
He is leaving the carrier after 10 years at the end of February, having joined in 2001 as sales and distribution director. Dickinson was promoted to his current role in 2006, replacing former marketing director Alison Copus.
He is taking the new role of international managing director for client services at Christie’s, as the market for fine art and antiques shifts to new fast-developing economies, Marketing Week reported.
Virgin Atlantic is reviewing the sales and marketing director role. A spokesman said: “Paul has been instrumental in driving revenues, improving customer service and building the brand reputation and has made a fantastic contribution to the airline.”
