The distributor of a rapid Covid-19 test trialled by Heathrow and Virgin Atlantic is to hold a webinar and Q&A session for the travel industry on Thursday.
GeneMe, which is an authorised distributor of the FRANKD test, said it aimed to provide an overview of the testing landscape, explain the difference between different types of test and showcase how results are provided.
The webinar comes in the week that the government announced its Test to Release scheme, which will allow travellers entering England from countries without travel corridors to take a Covid test five days after their return, with a negative test releasing them from the need to self-isolate.
The government has not defined which tests will be accepted, with a list of approved providers due to be published nearer to the start of the scheme on December 15.
It said the decision not to specify certain types of test would “allow for innovation in the testing market”.
The webinar will take place from 3-4pm and will be hosted by Angus Urquhart, sales director of GeneMe UK, and Gavin Watts, client transformation and delivery director of Yoti, the digital identity app used as part of the FRANKD tests.
