Co-operative Travel PTAs prepare for peaks with festive training

Homeworkers at The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel are taking part in a series of festive online training sessions to prepare for peaks this week.

The homeworking agency group, which has more than 160 members and is part of Midcounties Co-operative, will run sessions alongside Tipples & Tinsel gatherings to provide a dose of festive cheer.

The Countdown to Christmas series is the virtual equivalent of The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel‘s Christmas roadshow, which usually tours major cities in the country every December to prepare the agents for peaks.

It is taking place Monday December 14 to Friday December 18. Topics including wellness – focusing on how to wake up each morning feeling calm and confident; marketing – providing tips to ensure the enquiries keep rolling in during peaks; how to plan and get organised for peaks; and how to super-boost sales, using all the support and tools available to the agents.

The Countdown to Christmas event will be followed by another event, The BIG Christmas Get Together, on Monday December 21 when the homeworkers will learn about the group’s peaks promotions and incentives.

Plans for the virtual get together include recording a personalised Christmas carol sung by all the PTAs, a Secret Santa draw where homeworkers can win prizes such as a football signed by the Chelsea players, Amazon vouchers, wireless ear pods, champagne, and luxury bathrobes, all provided by suppliers including Jet2Holidays, MSC, Celebrity Cruises, Gold Medal, Do Something Different and more.

Sheena Whittle, head of The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel, said: “Normally at this time of year we are getting together with our fabulous PTAs, in person, to enjoy a Christmas lunch, a sherry and our Secret Santa gifts. Sadly, this year, we can’t do our usual roadshow but the virtual “Countdown to Christmas” is the next best thing and will allow us to prepare our agents for what we hope will be a busy peaks and, of course, have some festive fun at the same time.

“The sessions will cover all the key topics to help the PTAs prepare for a successful peaks, and, as the “Tipples & Tinsel” name suggests, a tipple or two will be encouraged! We look forward to counting down to Christmas together and to welcoming in a brighter year in 2021.”
