Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to recruit 500 cabin crew as it expands its network and introduces new aircraft.
The additional crew will be based at both Virgin Atlantic’s London bases, Heathrow and Gatwick, as the carrier prepares to launch services to Cancun and Vancouver this spring.
Virgin Atlantic recently announced a £100-million investment in its Upper Class, including a new cabin although details remain under wraps until next month.
The airline said it would be recruiting additional staff for its Upper Class later in the year.
Director of operations Corneel Koster said: “It is an exciting year of growth and investment for Virgin Atlantic as we look forward to expanding our network and welcoming a new fleet of aircraft.
“The new roles have been created to support our new destinations of Cancun and Vancouver, a second rotation on our San Francisco route and our new A330-300 aircraft.”
The carrier is due to take delivery of seven Airbus A330s this year. The cabin crew jobs will be advertised on www.virginatlantic.com.
