Upmarket demand on increase in Greece, says Olympic

GREECE is experiencing a surge in demand for more upmarket accommodation as holidaymakers continue to trade up, Olympic Holidays has said.

Customers are seeking self-catering apartments with private pools, with Corfu in particular benefiting from the trend.

Unveiling the operator’s 2000 Greece and Cyprus brochure, managing director George Michalias said the island has improved its accommodation after years of sub-standard facilities

The move has led to a boom in popularity. “Corfu has done particularly well this year after some time in the doldrums,” said Michalias.

“People are wanting self catering accommodation with private pools, restaurant and bars.”

Olympic is looking for 35% growth in 2000, taking passenger numbers to 140,000, with capacity increased across most of the programme.

Exeter flights have been added by Olympic, which now features 11 departure airports.

Early booking offers are available on selected accommodation and flights with savings of up to £200 and free car hire for three days.

Two weeks for the price of one is offered on Greek self-catering holidays for departures between April 20 and May 17.

Prices, lead in at £205 per person for a week at the Denise Hotel Apartments on Kos.

Meanwhile, Mark Mitchell has replaced Steve O’Loughlin as national sales manager.
