Gold Medal launches Florida peaks campaign

Gold Medal has launched a Florida peaks campaign including an incentive to give 18 agents a place on a fam trip to the sunshine state.

The Mega Fam is in partnership with Visit Florida, Virgin Atlantic and Universal Orlando Resort and will take place when entry to the US is permitted.

Agents will be split into two groups for an “action-packed, multi-centre adventure” across Florida before meeting together at Universal Orlando Resort for a “grand finale”.

Three places will be given to Gold Medal’s top Florida sellers from January 4 to February 28, and three more to the top sellers of Virgin Atlantic flights.

Six places will be offered to agents picked from all those who make Florida bookings in the period, and six more places during a Gold Medal Florida webinar which includes a quiz and takes place this month.

Gold Medal sales director Nick Hughes said: “We are treating this January like a normal peaks. We are prepared for whatever happens and if there is an upturn we are ready to make the most of the opportunity.”

Hughes said Gold Medal was focusing on social media marketing assets to help agents throughout peaks, noting “everything we’re doing is going to be social media friendly”. “We’ll get offers to agents as quickly as possible so we are first to market,” he added.

Hughes said mini-brochures, selling guides and window posters were also being made available.

“We will be ready for January and are confident,” he said. “The market might be smaller, but we are well-placed to increase our share.”

Hughes stressed that all nine account managers had been retained in the merger with sister operator Travel 2, so that agents had as much support as ever. As well as Incredible Journeys, sub-brands Pure Luxury and Cruise Plus have been retained. Travel 2’s Simply Luxury has been merged with Gold Medal’s Pure Luxury.
